Dr. David Bueno, member of the Bio4Res team, has been one of the recipients of the Premios IA y Tecnologías Avanzadas 2023 (2023 AI and Advanced Technology Awards) organized by Madrid’s Town Council. Jointly with José Manuel López from the company Visitas Virtuales, they created Almudena, a realistic avatar, who is capable of recognizing the user’s voice and providing information on how to recycle in Madrid, explaining from which objects should go in each container to which clean points can be found in each neighborhood, or providing tips to reduce environmental impact, something essential for sustainability, which is one of the corner stones of the Bio4Res project.
Almudena won in the category of design of a citizen information model using conversational bots, awarded with 40,000 euros. David has now created Victoria, another intelligent avatar that acts a tourist guide in Málaga’s Plaza de la Merced, well-known for being the birthplace of one of our universal malagueños: Pablo Ruiz Picasso.
